William's Pulpit Dayhike. Aug 2: William's Pulpit Dayhike. The hike is a section of the
Bartram Trail which was named after the first botanist to reach the
southern Appalachians in the late 18th Century. The area is
reported to be a great place to find summer wildflowers.
William's Pulpit is a huge 100
foot rock shelf with great views of the nearby valley when clear. Rated 4-M-20. Contact leader Lee Thomas at 770.458.3389.

Whiterock Mountain. Aug 31: Whiterock Mtn. We will hike through alternating rhododendron
and ancient old growth forest dominated by large white oaks to
Whiterock Mtn. This peak is known as "one of the most stunning
vistas to be found in the southern Appalachians." Rated 5-M-10.

Augusta Canal Moonlight Paddle. Jul 12. Moonlight paddle on the Augusta Canal. We will
slowly cruise along the 7.2 miles of navigable water beginning just
before sunset. Plenty of beaver, some waterbirds and sometimes a
ghostly fog will appear. You must provide your own canoe and have
some canoeing experience. Limit 12. For more information
